Stephanie Whitlow Promoted to Chief Marketing Officer for Western Alliance Bank
PHOENIX – Western Alliance Bank, the nation’s #1 top-performing bank with assets greater than $50 billion per American Banker and Bank Director, today announced that Stephanie Whitlow has been promoted to chief marketing officer.
Whitlow, who brings nearly 20 years of professional marketing experience in the financial services and commercial real estate sectors to this role, is responsible for the company’s strategic marketing and communications efforts. As CMO, she guides teams dedicated to advancing the business objectives of the company’s regional banking divisions and national business lines. She also oversees marketing for Western Alliance Bank more broadly, including support for the goal to become the nation’s leader in commercial banking.
Prior to her current position, Whitlow served as senior marketing director for Western Alliance Bank, which she joined in 2017. Previously, Whitlow was director of corporate marketing & communications for RED Development, a privately held owner and operator of retail and mixed-use properties in major U.S. markets. Earlier in her career, she was a marketing manager with Macerich, a public REIT headquartered in Southern California.
Whitlow will continue to be based in Phoenix, reporting to Randall Theisen in his capacity as Head of Corporate Affairs.
“Stephanie is an accomplished marketing executive with a proven track record for success at Western Alliance Bank,” said Theisen. “We are very pleased to promote her to the position of CMO, which ensures the entire organization will benefit from Stephanie’s deep understanding of our bank and its unique value proposition for stakeholders, including customers, communities and our internal team members.”
He added that her extensive background in commercial real estate also benefits the bank, which has demonstrated expertise in CRE.
“It’s a privilege to lead the marketing function for our high-performing organization,” said Whitlow. “We have an exceptional team, and my own experience working with bankers across the company, as well as bank leadership, provides an excellent foundation to further build our reputation as Western Alliance continues its strong trajectory of growth and performance.”
A Phoenix native, Whitlow earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Arizona State University.
