HR Executive Magazine Honors Western Alliance CHRO Barbara Kennedy

October 13, 2021

HR Executive magazine, a leading professional publication, has named Barbara Kennedy to its HR Honor Roll for 2021, no small feat in a year marked by COVID challenges plus the major acquisition of AmeriHome Mortgage for Western Alliance.

On this year’s list of honorees, Kennedy is in exemplary company. The magazine’s 2021 HR Executive of the Year is Kathleen Hogan of Microsoft and Kennedy is joined on the Honor Roll by Jeff Ryan of Zynga, the social game developer known for FarmVille.

In presenting the award, the magazine cited Kennedy’s work to codify the bank’s “People. Performance. Possibilities.” culture, as well as innovative HR programming.

The publication quotes Western Alliance Bank CEO Ken Vecchione, “As we continue to grow, Barbara’s ability to imbue our people-first culture all across our organization is integral to our ongoing success. She capably scales our entrepreneurial culture, with particular attention to helping people develop and grow their careers to reach their potential with us.”
