Hot August Nights Foundation and First Independent Bank Collecting Winter Coats for Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows
The Hot August Nights Foundation Winter Coat Drive Is Underway November 2 - 17, 2023
RENO - The public is encouraged to help provide warm winter coats to Northern Nevada children who may not have them by participating in the Hot August Nights Foundation (HANF) Coat Drive between November 2 - 17, 2023.
Again this year, First Independent Bank and its employees are joining the effort to help those families facing economic uncertainty and other hardships who cannot provide winter clothing independently.
“Hot August Nights Foundation works year round to support children who are in need or at risk,” said Linda Lott, president Hot August Nights Foundation. “Working with our long-term partner, First Independent Bank, to collect coats for the youth at the Boys & Girls Club is a win for the community. Our goal is to over deliver and show these kids how much the community cares.”
All new and gently used coats are provided to the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows which will distribute to families in need during the club’s Thanksgiving event.
“We’re asking the public to do whatever they can to help our local families, whether that means donating one coat or donating several coats,” said Jim DeVolld, managing director, commercial banking at First Independent Bank. “Every donation is important and every donor should feel good about helping someone in need.”
To make donating coats easier, First Independent Bank locations in Reno and Sparks have coat drop-off bins located inside the lobby. Donations may be dropped off during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (All locations will be closed on Friday, November 10, 2023, in observance of Veterans Day.)
