Mieke Holkeboer

Vice President Affordable Housing Investments

Mieke Holkeboer is a vice president and senior underwriter in the Affordable Housing Group at Western Alliance Bank. She joined Western Alliance Bank’s Public and Nonprofit Finance Group in 2015. 

Based in Los Angeles, Ms. Holkeboer has been a public finance professional for more than 20 years. Her experience includes multiple areas of municipal, nonprofit and high-yield finance, including charter school, higher education and land-backed sectors and distressed municipal bonds. At Western Alliance Bank, she structures, prices, underwrites and closes affordable housing bonds and manages transactions from initial contact through funding, serving as a liaison between clients, the bank and other financial parties to a transaction. 

Before joining Western Alliance Bank, she worked for Kayne Saybrook Municipal Opportunity Fund and previously in Chicago as a senior municipal bond analyst for Nuveen Investments.  

Ms. Holkeboer served for many years on the Women in Public Finance Los Angeles Chapter (WPF LA) Board, most recently as president. She currently serves as a founding member and secretary for Women’s Affordable Housing Network Los Angeles (WAHN LA) and a program committee member for the Affordable Housing Investors Council (AHIC). 

Ms. Holkeboer earned her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and holds graduate degrees from Yale University, the University of Cape Town and the University of Chicago.
