Mieke Holkeboer is the director of Affordable Housing Finance for Western Alliance Bank. In this role, she directs investment efforts and oversees debt underwriting for on-book construction and permanent low-income housing debt opportunities throughout the United States, with a focus on partnering with tax credit syndicators and other lending institutions.

Ms. Holkeboer joined Western Alliance in 2015 after more than a decade of buyside roles in public finance including investing in distressed municipal bonds for Saybrook Fund Advisors, a private equity firm, and in high-yield municipal bonds for mutual and closed-end funds at Nuveen Investments.  

Ms. Holkeboer currently serves on the Affordable Housing Investors Council (AHIC) Board of Directors and has previously held multiple volunteer positions including as board president for Women in Public Finance Los Angeles (WPFLA) and as a member of the National Sponsorship Committee for Women’s Affordable Housing Network (WAHN).

She earned her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and graduate degrees from Yale University, the University of Cape Town and the University of Chicago. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, two boys and six cats.
