Matt Leivian
Senior Managing Director, Institutional Commercial Real Estate Finance
Matt Leivian is a Senior Managing Director in Institutional Commercial Real Estate Finance for Western Alliance Bank. He joined Western Alliance in 2026, bringing 22 years of banking experience, including 15 years in commercial real estate lending. In his previous role with National Bank of Arizona, Mr. Leivian spent nearly two decades originating and structuring large, complex commercial real estate transactions.
Based in Phoenix, Mr. Leivian works with investors, developers and owners on financing solutions, focusing on construction, value-add and term financing secured by industrial, office, multifamily, retail and self-storage assets across the U.S. He enjoys advising clients on optimal loan structures, pricing strategies and interest-rate risk management to deliver tailored financing solutions across all major commercial real estate product types.
Mr. Leivian serves on the boards of the American Cancer Society’s Southwest Region, St. Francis Xavier Parish Finance Council and St. Francis Xavier Athletics Association. He is a member of NAIOP and Valley Partnership.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Business from the University of Arizona and received a graduate certificate from Pacific Coast Banking School in 2023.
