Mary Grinnell is vice president on the Startup Banking Team, a part of the Innovation Banking Group at Western Alliance Bank. Based in New York City, she works closely with founders, CFOs and investors of early-stage innovation companies, delivering customized banking solutions that support growth and operational success.
Mary joined Western Alliance Bank in 2024 as assistant vice president, portfolio manager for the Innovation Banking Group. In her previous role, she managed a portfolio of nearly 300 deposit accounts. She is now actively involved in fostering connections across the startup ecosystem through networking and thought leadership events. Prior to joining Western Alliance, Mary provided banking and treasury management expertise across several different roles for over 6 years at First Republic Bank, now part of JPMorgan Chase. She closely supported nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, religious organizations, tech startups, funds, and other complex banking clients.
Her expertise includes treasury and cash management solutions, digital banking services and relationship management. Combined with a strong network of investors, operators and industry partners, Mary supports startup banking clients to achieve their business objectives.
Mary earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Santa Clara University and is a proud supporter and attendee of female-based networking groups
