Square Panda

The Square Panda phonics program allows students to learn as they play and in the process acquire deeper reading skills. There are 14 different levels of phonics instruction and teachers have the ability to measure progress for each student.

Most educational leaders agree that it is vital for the long term success of any student that they achieve reading proficiency by the third grade. This is an extremely crucial time for young students, as educators believe this is the time where most students make the leap from learning to read to reading to learn. That’s why Bank of Nevada has helped to bring the Square Panda Phonics Program to three at-risk elementary schools in Southern Nevada to help students achieve this important reading milestone.

The Andre Agassi Preparatory Academy, Crestwood Elementary and Walter Long Elementary received a combined 65 iPads donated by Bank of Nevada that allow students to utilize the software.

All schools report dramatic improvement in reading proficiency among the students utilizing the Square Panda program. In some cases, non-English speaking parents of students also have access to the software to help them learn the English language.
