
Melvin Moothen is vice president, commercial banking, at Western Alliance Bank. Based in Los Angeles, he is part of the Public and Nonprofit Finance group, where he provides financing solutions for municipalities and nonprofit organizations.
Prior to joining Western Alliance Bank in 2017, Mr. Moothen was a Portfolio Manager at U.S. Bank where he was involved in several financing transactions for large profile clients including the City of Los Angeles, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the LA County MTA.
He graduated from Western Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and earned a Master of Science in Finance and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northeastern University. He also earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Washington.
Mr. Moothen participated in the 2016-2017 Leadership Academy for the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce, and also has been active in the Financial Services Industry eXchange and Reaching Out MBA (ROMBA).
