Nonprofit Assistance

Our commitment to growing Northern Nevada’s nonprofit base is an essential value for First Independent Bank. Members of our team actively support nonprofit organizations in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Fallon communities, often serving on multiple boards and committees.

In addition, our Charitable Contributions Program helps 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide services and support in low- or moderate-income areas. First Independent Bank primarily focuses on organizations and programs that provide:

Federal Home Loan Grants

Through Western Alliance Bank, First Independent Bank has access to the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) community investment grant program. We work with not-for-profits and the FHLB to grant down payment assistance for low-to-moderate income families. Individual Development Accounts (IDAs)

First Independent Bank offers Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) to help qualified individuals grow their savings to purchase a home, business, or pay for college courses. Account holders pay no fees, and their funds are typically matched by a sponsoring nonprofit organization.
